The groundworker's machine
Groundworks covers a lot: foundation trenches, drainage, service ducts, muck shifting, levelling and prep. For a machine that does all of it, most groundworkers land on the 1 to 2-tonne range as the best balance of capability and access.
Our 1-tonne L1000 digs to 1.66 metres and reaches over 3 metres, enough for the bulk of general groundwork while still fitting through a 930 mm gap. When the workload is heavier and more regular, the 1.8-tonne L1800 brings more digging force, reach and lifting, plus the option of a hydraulic thumb and closed cabin for comfort on long days.
Because every machine is quick-hitch compatible, one digger runs a full set of attachments across the working week: digging and grading buckets, a ripper for hard ground, a breaker for concrete and tarmac, and an auger for post holes.
