Access sets the maximum width you can get on site. Our 0.65-tonne L600 is 690 mm wide for the tightest jobs; the 1-tonne L1000 is 930 mm and still fits most gateways while digging deeper. Depth sets the minimum reach you need: the L600 digs to about 1.1 metres, the L1000 to 1.66 metres. Frequency decides whether to buy at all: if you're hiring a machine more than a handful of times a year, buying usually works out cheaper fast.
