Micro Diggers for Sale

What is a micro digger, and when do you need one?

A micro digger is a mini excavator under roughly 1 tonne. The defining feature is access: our 0.65-tonne L600 is just 690 mm wide, so it fits through a standard doorway or garden gate and works comfortably in spaces a 1.5 or 3-tonne machine can't get near.

That makes it the go-to for domestic and confined work: landscaping back gardens, digging footings for garden rooms and small extensions, laying short drainage runs, and jobs inside buildings or behind fences. It's light enough to move on a standard trailer behind a 4x4 or van, which keeps transport simple.

What you trade for that access is depth and power. A micro digs to around 1.1 metres, versus 1.66 metres for a 1-tonne machine, so for deeper trenches or heavier groundwork you'd size up. For everything tight and light, though, nothing beats it.

Micro digger prices and what to check

Used micro diggers typically sell from around £4,000 to £8,000 depending on hours and condition, with the risk of worn tracks, tired hydraulics and no warranty. Our brand-new L600 comes in at the lower end of that range while giving you zero hours, a clean history and a full 12-month parts warranty.

When comparing machines, check the operating weight and width against your tightest access point, the digging depth against your deepest job, and whether it's quick-hitch compatible so you can swap buckets and attachments quickly. New or used, those three numbers decide whether it fits your work.

Frequently asked questions

How wide is a micro digger?
Our L600 micro digger is 690 mm wide, so it fits through a standard gateway or doorway. That's the main reason to choose a micro over a larger machine: access into tight spaces.
How deep can a micro digger dig?
The L600 digs to around 1.1 metres (1,095 mm). That's plenty for garden drainage, footings and most domestic jobs. For deeper trenches, step up to a 1-tonne machine that reaches about 1.66 metres.
Can a micro digger be moved on a trailer?
Yes. At around 650 kg the L600 is light enough to move on a standard braked trailer behind a 4x4, van or larger car, which keeps transport straightforward and cheap.
Are the machines new or used?
Every machine is brand new and built to order, not ex-hire or second hand. You get a clean history, no hidden wear and a full 12-month warranty from day one.
How much does a mini digger cost?
Because we sell factory-direct, prices start well below a comparable dealer machine. A micro digger sits at the lower end of the range, with 1 to 2-tonne machines costing more as digging depth and power increase. All prices include VAT and free delivery.
Do you deliver across the UK?
Yes. Every machine is delivered free to your door anywhere in mainland UK on a dedicated transport service, usually within 4 to 6 weeks, with updates the whole way.
Is finance available?
Yes. Finance options are available so you can spread the cost into manageable monthly payments rather than paying the full amount upfront. Get in touch and we'll talk you through what's available.
Can I add attachments?
Yes. Every machine is quick-hitch compatible with buckets, rippers, breakers, augers, thumbs and more, added at checkout so they arrive with the machine.
