Compact Excavators for Sale

What counts as a compact excavator?

Compact excavator, mini digger, mini excavator, micro digger, they all describe the same thing: a small tracked excavator, usually under 2 tonnes, designed to work where full-size machines can't. The label matters less than the size you choose.

Our range spans the compact class from both ends. The 0.65-tonne L600 is a true micro at 690 mm wide for the tightest access. The 1-tonne L1000 and 1.2-tonne L1200 are the everyday all-rounders for groundworks, trenching and foundations. The 1.8-tonne L1800 sits at the top for heavier, more regular work.

Because every machine is quick-hitch compatible, one compact excavator runs a full set of attachments, buckets, a breaker, an auger, a ripper and more, so it covers a wide range of jobs.

Choosing the right compact excavator

Pick your size on two numbers: the width you can get on site, and the depth you need to dig. A micro (0.65t) fits through a 690 mm gap and digs to about 1.1 m; a 1-tonne machine is 930 mm and digs to 1.66 m; the larger machines add more force and reach.

Buying new and direct means zero hours, a 12-month warranty and a much lower price than a used machine of the same size. These are mechanically simpler, affordable machines built to give real value for small-to-medium work, so you get a lot of capability without paying premium-brand money.

Frequently asked questions

Is a compact excavator the same as a mini digger?
Yes. Compact excavator, mini excavator, mini digger and micro digger all describe the same type of machine: a small tracked excavator, usually under 2 tonnes, built for tight access. The differences are in size and weight, not the name.
What size compact excavator do I need?
For tight gardens and light work, a 0.65-tonne micro. For general groundworks, trenching and foundations, a 1 to 1.2-tonne machine. For heavier, regular work, a 1.8-tonne machine. Match the width to your access and the dig depth to your deepest job.
Are your compact excavators new?
Yes, every machine is brand new and built to order, not used or ex-hire, with a full 12-month warranty and free UK delivery.
Are the machines new or used?
Every machine is brand new and built to order, not ex-hire or second hand. You get a clean history, no hidden wear and a full 12-month warranty from day one.
How much does a mini digger cost?
Because we sell factory-direct, prices start well below a comparable dealer machine. A micro digger sits at the lower end of the range, with 1 to 2-tonne machines costing more as digging depth and power increase. All prices include VAT and free delivery.
Do you deliver across the UK?
Yes. Every machine is delivered free to your door anywhere in mainland UK on a dedicated transport service, usually within 4 to 6 weeks, with updates the whole way.
Is finance available?
Yes. Finance options are available so you can spread the cost into manageable monthly payments rather than paying the full amount upfront. Get in touch and we'll talk you through what's available.
Can I add attachments?
Yes. Every machine is quick-hitch compatible with buckets, rippers, breakers, augers, thumbs and more, added at checkout so they arrive with the machine.
