1 Tonne Mini Diggers for Sale

Is a 1 tonne mini digger the right size?

A 1-tonne machine is the sweet spot between access and capability. At roughly 1,050 kg our L1000 digs to 1.66 metres and reaches over 3 metres, yet it still fits through a 930 mm gap, so it handles utility trenches, footings, ponds and general groundworks without needing a wide entrance.

Compared with a 0.65-tonne micro digger you get noticeably more depth, reach and digging force, which pays off on anything beyond light garden work. Compared with a 1.8-tonne machine you keep the tight access and the lower transport weight. For most groundworkers and serious DIY projects, 1 tonne is the size that does the widest range of jobs.

Add expandable tracks for extra stability on uneven ground and a quick-hitch for fast attachment changes, and you have a machine that earns its keep day in, day out.

1 tonne mini digger prices and what to check

Used 1-tonne machines from the big brands hold their value, so a good one isn't cheap, and you still inherit its hours and wear. Our brand-new L1000 comes in factory-direct with zero hours, a clean history and a full 12-month warranty, at a price that competes with tired used examples.

Before you buy, check three numbers against your work: the overall width against your tightest access, the digging depth against your deepest job, and confirm it's quick-hitch compatible so one machine can run buckets, a breaker, an auger and more.

Frequently asked questions

How deep can a 1 tonne mini digger dig?
Our 1-tonne L1000 digs to a maximum depth of around 1.66 metres (1,665 mm), with a maximum reach of about 3.19 metres. That covers most drainage runs, footings and utility trenches without needing a larger machine.
How wide is a 1 tonne mini digger?
Our 1-tonne L1000 is 930 mm wide, so it still fits through most standard gateways and access points while giving you more digging depth and force than a micro digger.
Can a 1 tonne mini digger be towed on a trailer?
Yes, on a suitable braked plant trailer. At around 1,050 kg plus the trailer weight, check your towing vehicle and licence allowance, but the L1000 is well within reach of a capable 4x4 and plant trailer setup.
Are the machines new or used?
Every machine is brand new and built to order, not ex-hire or second hand. You get a clean history, no hidden wear and a full 12-month warranty from day one.
How much does a mini digger cost?
Because we sell factory-direct, prices start well below a comparable dealer machine. A micro digger sits at the lower end of the range, with 1 to 2-tonne machines costing more as digging depth and power increase. All prices include VAT and free delivery.
Do you deliver across the UK?
Yes. Every machine is delivered free to your door anywhere in mainland UK on a dedicated transport service, usually within 4 to 6 weeks, with updates the whole way.
Is finance available?
Yes. Finance options are available so you can spread the cost into manageable monthly payments rather than paying the full amount upfront. Get in touch and we'll talk you through what's available.
Can I add attachments?
Yes. Every machine is quick-hitch compatible with buckets, rippers, breakers, augers, thumbs and more, added at checkout so they arrive with the machine.
