1.8 Tonne Compact Excavator Buying Guide
The 1.8 tonne compact excavator is the largest machine in our range, built for jobs that consistently need more depth, power and bucket capacity than a standard mini digger provides.
What it handles that smaller machines cannot
With a dig depth of around 2.4 metres and a bucket capacity of roughly 0.074 cubic metres, this size reaches deeper foundations, moves significantly more spoil per pass, and copes better with heavier attachments like larger breakers, making it the right choice for regular commercial groundworks or construction site work.
Access requirements
This is the widest machine in our range, and while still classed as compact, it needs more clearance than a micro or standard mini digger. Wide gateways, driveways or site access are generally needed rather than narrow domestic side passages.
Who this size suits
Commercial groundworkers, construction contractors, and anyone whose jobs regularly involve deeper excavation or heavier attachment work will find this size pays for itself faster than trying to stretch a smaller machine beyond its comfortable capacity.
