0.6 Tonne Micro Digger Buying Guide
The 0.6 tonne micro digger is the smallest practical size in our range, built for jobs where access matters more than raw digging power.
What it actually handles
With a dig depth of around 1.2 metres and a bucket capacity of 0.024 cubic metres, a 0.6 tonne micro digger comfortably handles garden landscaping, small driveway groundworks, footings for single-storey extensions, and general domestic digging where the ground does not need to be reached deeper than about a metre.
Where its size is the whole point
At around 690mm wide, this machine fits through a standard domestic doorway or side gate, which is what makes it the only realistic option for gardens reached through tight access. This is the deciding factor for most buyers, more than any comparison of digging power.
What it is not suited for
Deeper excavations like septic tanks, heavier commercial groundworks, or jobs needing a hydraulic breaker for concrete are better handled by a 1.0 tonne or larger machine. Buying a micro digger for a job that consistently needs more depth or power just means slower progress and more strain on the machine.
